Patient Referrals

In the state of Wisconsin, in most cases a client can begin therapy without a physician referral; however, your insurance may require it. Medicare and Medicaid do require a physician referral, but many other HMOs and private insurance companies do not. We can help you determine if you need a referral and will contact your insurance provider on your behalf to verify.
For patients considering a cash pay method, no referral is required; however, we are unable to accept cash for those with Medicare, Medicaid or other government insurance plans.

Massage Therapy Services

Achieve Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine currently offers massage at our Holmen and Arcadia locations. We have 30, 60 and 90 minute appointments available.

Our therapists can provide a general relaxation massage or a massage for your specific needs. Specialized massages include:

Swedish Massage

A soothing and relaxing massage offering varying degrees of pressure to meet your needs. This type of massage incorporates passive stretching and range of motion movements in conjunction with localized and long massage strokes to promote good health through improved circulation, decreased muscle tension, increased range of motion and overall relaxation.

Myofascial Release

This type of bodywork is used to reduce pain and dysfunction through the use of a cross-hand technique and gentle sustained pressure applied to fascial restrictions of the body. Fascia is a tough connective tissue that surrounds nerves, blood vessels, bony structures, and organs. Poor posture, inflammation, and trauma or injury can cause myofascial restrictions. By reducing the excessive pressure caused by bound down fascia this approach can allow for decreased pain and improved mobility.

Pregnancy Massage

Our massage therapists are thoroughly trained and understand appropriate techniques, pressure, and modifications to be made to allow for a safe, comfortable, and relaxing massage experience during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. Women who receive massage during pregnancy report fewer complications, reduced prematurity rates, shorter and less painful labors, decreased stress and anxiety, and improved overall relaxation.

Sports Massage

Athletes have special needs, and massage is often used as a part of an athlete’s training regimen. Massage can be used to help the athlete warm up the muscles before training or before an event. It is effective to help stretch the muscles as well as stimulating blood flow and relaxation, which can help prevent sports injuries. Massage can also be used to help athletes recover faster from an injury, reducing muscle spasm and soreness.
